La Roux 'There Aren't Many Strong Female Singers'

La Roux vocalist Elly Jackson feels many contemporary female singers are not "strong".
Speaking about the current chart situation, the outspoken warbler told the Daily Record: "There are a few strong girls, but there are a lot who are not all that strong. There have always been strong women in the charts. It comes in waves."
"I feel music's in a transitional period. Half of it wants to go one way and half of it wants to go the other." Jackson continued. "A lot of it doesn't really sit well together in the charts. There's a fair amount of bland music out there."
"Girls will always be strong in the charts. It's a really good platform for strong girls, more so than the film world. So I don't see why it's different now from at any other time."
La Roux are going on tour in 2010 - tickets are on sale here. They're also re-releasing 'Quicksand' on November 23.
