KRS-One was injured during a live show this weekend and needed hospital treatment, after a member of the audience became angry.
During the set at the Toad's Place nightclub in New Haven, CT, a fan jumped onstage but was then escorted off by club security. He then threw a bottle at the stage, which struck the rapper (real name Lawrence Krisna Parker) on the face and hand.
The former Boogie Down Productions member was later taken to Yale-New Haven hospital in an ambulance, to be treated for a fractured hand and dehydration - after his right hand swelled up during the performance.
KRS-One didn't rise to the occasion according to AllHipHop, as he urged the crowd to "Let it go. When negativity comes your way, let it go." And "Let this be an example as to how we stop the violence."
Ironically, the show was part of a series of live dates to support his Stop the Violence Movement, which aims to promote the message of nonviolence. KRS-One has been performing in rough neighbourhoods to support the cause.
