Katy Perry To Judge On American Idol

Katy Perry has been added to the list of guest judges on American Idol, a day after it was confirmed that Victoria Beckham would appear on a one-off episode of the show.

According to Reuters, neither Perry or Beckham will be permanent replacements for Paula Abdul, but will feature on an episode each along with other guest judges yet to be announced (until a long term replacement is found).

Fox chairman Peter Rice told Reuters: "Between now and January, we will come up with a permanent solution on what we will do. Obviously, there is going to be a different dynamic, there is something exciting about that."

And the most important part of finding a new judge for the show, is if they click with co-stars Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the panel.

"What we need to find is someone who has great chemistry, It really is a casting job. Our job in the next four or five months is to consider what makes this the most fun, the most entertaining show."
