Jay-Z has followed in the footsteps of Madonna and U2 signed a new $150 million deal with Live Nation - for his future albums, tours and endorsements over the next ten years.
Also included in the partnership are other business projects that will fall under a new company named Roc Nation - this is expected to include his label, publishing and even management,
It's not known how many album Jay-Z is expected to deliver through Live Nation, but rumours suggest three. Speaking to The Times, the rapper says: "In a way I want to operate like an indie band."
"Play the music on tour instead of relying on radio. Hopefully we'll get some hits out of there and radio will pick it up, but we won't make it with that in mind."
Jokingly, he also added: "I've turned into the Rolling Stones of hip-hop."
