Jack White reveals he had doubts about his latest band The Dead Weather, in fear he'd face a backlash for having too many current projects.
In addition to The White Stripes and The Raconteurs, White formed his third musical outing with Alison Mosshart of The Kills, Jack Lawrence and Dean Fetita (of Queens of The Stone Age).
The collective are to deliver their debut album 'Horehound' on July 3rd. In an interview with Uncut magazine, Jack tells the publication about his initial concerns over "going public".
"There was a self-consciousness, I think, but it was after the fact." Says Jack. "When we started we didn't even know we were making a record or starting a band."
"But when you're finishing a project you remember, 'Oh that's right, we have to release this to the lions now.' And people are going to say, 'Oh right, they're both in two-piece guy/girl bands.' They're going to think we did it on purpose."
As for the chemistry between the members of The Dead Weather, White explains: "It was a happy accident. Everybody involved really inspired each other."
