Guillemots were quiet during 2007 working on their second album, the follow-up to their popular Through The Windowpane debut. Now the band have confirmed their new LP is named Red.
Set for release on March 24th, lead single Get Over It will be delivered a week earlier on the 17th. Speaking of the new material, lead singer Fyfe Dangerfield says:
"We didn't want to make Through The Windowpane 2. That was a softer record. This time around we just wanted to make a bunch of pop songs that punched, instantly."
Dangerfield continued: "...to make pop songs that demand your attention, that make you stop in your tracks when they come on the radio, that's our ultimate ambition."
Guillemots will also be playing a clutch of live shows in the same month:
March Dates:
9th - Ritz, Manchester
10th - Academy, Oxford
11th - Shepherds Bush Empire, London
