Gorillaz To Start Work On Their Third Album

Gorillaz - the band created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett - will start work on a new album shortly, although they may give the cartoon group a new facelift.

Albarn confirmed plans to head into the studio to CBC, telling them: "We're doing another Gorillaz record."

"We came back from summer holidays and realized we could do exactly what we wanted to do with Gorillaz. Essentially, Jamie just had to agree to draw the characters again. 'Cause I just do what I do anyway."

Animator Hewlett however, added that he may need to change the direction of the cartoon figures, as he was losing interest: "I'm so f****** bored of drawing those characters," he said, "but then we had a moment where we had a new angle on it."

Gorillaz haven't released a studio album since 2005's 'Demon Days'. Their last release was 2007's b-sides and remix compilation 'D-Sides'.
