Glasvegas 'Hopeful' For Mercury Music Prize

Glasvegas feel they will be winning this year's Mercury Music Prize.

The band were one of 12 nominations who made the shortlist for the lucrative prize, which will see a panel of critics and industry bigwigs select their favourite album of the year.

James Allan, frontman with Glasvegas is confident they'll be awarded the gong, because of the passion and hard work that went into creating their self-titled debut.

Allan told NME: "You've got to understand that with the euphoria, the heartbreak that you put yourself through making a record... I really did have nothing left in me."

"I was on my f***ing knees by the end of this thing man, more than you'll ever be able to f***ing imagine. So with that then, I expect to take [the award]."

Others nominated include La Roux, Bat For Lashes and Kasabian - the full list of acts up for the award can be read here.
