Franz Ferdinand will appear on 'Friday Night With Jonathan Ross' this evening, and frontman Alex Kapranos was quick to defend the controversial host.
Tonights show (January 23) sees Jonathan Ross return to the BBC after he was suspended, and Russell Brand quit, following complaints over their offensive prank calls to Andrew Sachs.
Alex Kapranos told The Guardian: "There are some people who want to be offended no matter what, and they are going to look for offence in anything someone like Jonathan Ross is going to say."
"I suppose he had to apologise, but we've done the show a few times before and it just felt like Jonathan Ross back doing his thing."
Franz Ferdinand will appear on the show along with Tom Cruise, Stephen Fry and Lee Evans, when it is aired tonight on BBC1 at 10.35pm. The group performed new single 'Ulysses' at the filming for the show yesterday (Jan 22).
The band are also streaming new album 'Tonight: Franz Ferdinand' online before it is released next week.
