Florence And The Machine To Record Second Album

Florence And The Machine are keen to get on with their second album, and plan to hit the studio as early as January 2010.

This year saw the band release their acclaimed debut 'Lungs' and the positive reception the record received has motivated them to press on with a follow-up.

"We're recording the second album in January." Says lead singer Florence Welch. "Got the plan, I just want to start recording as soon as possible."

Florence also spoke of her new-found fame and admits becoming a household name hasn't changed her.

"I'm basically the same and everyone's like, 'Aren't you supposed to be some loaded pop star?' and I'm like, 'No, trust me I'm not, I get an allowance'."

"Life hasn't changed. I still get the bus. I have no cash cards so I'm pretty much broke and borrowing money still. My phone's broken, I'm still exactly the same." Welsh added.

"Sometimes I get scared by the exposure, scared by negative criticism but it's something you learn to deal with and take it less personally."
