EMI To Offer Sponsorship On New Albums

The EMI saga continues now, as it has just emerged that the label is to offer sponsorship on their band's albums, meaning future releases may be accompanied by corporate branding.

The idea is the latest way new owners Terra Firma are looking to expand their revenue after declining profits of the company they bought out last August for £3.2 billion.

What this sponsorship means has not yet been confirmed, but many believe CD artwork could feature advertising from large companies.

This week has already seen the announcement that the company is to cut around 2,000 jobs in their huge shake-up.
