Elbow To Write About "Hoodies" On Their Next Album

Elbow have revealed the inspiration behind their next album - "hoodies".

Talking to Teletext, frontman Guy Garvey says of the follow-up to their Mercury Music Prize-winning album 'The Seldom Seen Kid': "I want the next record to sound like an early evening in the North of England."

"I'm thinking of the time when teenagers - I believe they have to be called hoodies now - are sitting on fence posts, forming their own ideas about themselves and the world around them, while their parents watch TV."

Since scooping the Mercury Prize, Elbow have seen an increase in sales of 'The Seldom Seen Kid' and also seen the LP jumping from number 61 in the charts to number 7.
