Devendra Banhart will begin work on his new album this Autumn, according to a message posted on his official site.
The acclaimed folkster will commence work in September and so far, the LP has a working title of Smokey, although this name may only be kept to title a film which will accompany the album.
Banhart describes the new recording as sounding "half extremely mellow, breezy, one quarter melancholic drone bummer, and one quarter equatorial pop."
Devendra is also aiming to collaborate with a bunch of guest musicians on the new project, including the influential Vashti Bunyan, long-term friends Vetiver and Matteah Baim of the band Metallic Falcons.
