David Cook "Would Love To Act"

Now he's established himself as a singer-songwriter, David Cook is keen to try his hand at acting.

"I would love to," the American Idol winner told E! Online. "It's another kind of way to be creative, so I'm very on board for that."

The site also asked Cook what he thought about former judge Paula Abdul quitting the show. "Nobody can replace her," David said.

"I don't think anybody should try. What made Paula work and what makes all the judges work is that they are their own people."
