David Cook New Single Co-Written With Chris Cornell

American Idol winner David Cook has revealed that the first single from his debut album will be co-written by Soundgarden / Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell and Hinder / Puddle Of Mudd collaborator Brian Howes.

The single is called 'Light On' and will debut today (Sept 24th) on AOL before being released on iTunes on Sept 30th.

David's untitled album looks likely to include many well known names as co-writers. These include Collective Soul's Ed Roland, Our Lady Peace's Raine Maida and Kara DioGuardi. It's due for release on November 18th.

Speaking of his new album, Cook has previously told Billboard: "The music is rock and it's pretty undeniably me, which I'm retty excited about." He added that "there's gonna be some interesting twists and turns ... that will keep people interested."

David was well known on American Idol for taking songs such as 'Billie Jean' and 'Always Be My Baby' and making them his own.
