Cowell 'Doesn't Regret Not Signing JLS'

Simon Cowell doesn't regret not signing JLS to his record label, after they came runner-up on last year's X Factor contest.

Although Cowell didn't ink a contract with the boyband and his own SyCo label, the 'Beat Again' singers went on to sign with Epic Records - which is also a subsidiary of Sony Music.

When asked if he regrets letting the band slip through his fingers (especially as they've had a number 1 single and are set for a second on Sunday), he said: "No. My company, we employ about 15 people. We had to make a decision based on how many acts we could cope with this year."

"But the company who I work with, Sony, had another label who wanted to sign the group. It's still within the same family."

"I hope they're an inspiration to other groups. If you give yourself time to form a group, give yourself a few months, you can audition for the show next year. It shows you what a good group can do on the show."

JLS released their second single Everybody In Love this week.
