Chris Cornell has quit Audioslave and will now continue to pursue his solo career.
The vocalist will release his second solo album Carry On on April 30th (UK) / May 1st (US) and will not return as a member of the group in future. Last year, he also sang the theme tune for the current James Bond movie, Casino Royale.
Speaking in a statement, Chris Cornell says, "Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences, I am permanently leaving the band Audioslave."
Cornell also added, "I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavours."
The remaining three members of Audioslave (Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk) have now joined forces with singer Zack de la Rocha to restart their previous band, rock giants Rage Against The Machine.
Rage Against The Machine will now be playing their first show together in seven years at the Coachella Festival on April 29th.
