Biffy Clyro "Not Involved" With Singles Compilation Album

Biffy Clyro are distancing themselves from a forthcoming compilation album, set to be released by their former label Beggars Banquet.

The collection will collate singles from the band's first three albums - Blackened Sky, The Vertigo Of Bliss and Infinity Land. However, speaking on their website, Biffy Clyro's tour manager says:

"It looks like Beggars will finally do what they've threatened to do for a while, and release a compilation of the singles from those three records. Whilst the band are very proud of all their records, its obviously not ideal for those songs to be taken out of context and released as an album unto themselves."

"The band chose not to be involved with this release, beyond requesting that they not attempt to 'sequence' a tracklist, or create a 'new' album or, god forbid, a 'greatest hits'.

This contradicts the Beggars Banquet camp, who tell the Daily Record: "I have heard this (news of the compilation), but the truth is that it is being done with the band. There is nothing untoward, we are not going behind their back – this is being done with the blessing of the band."
