Biffy Clyro Frontman Nearly Thrown Out Of His Own Gig

Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil was nearly thrown out of his own gig by security guards who didn't recognise him.

The rockers had been performing in Birmingham, when Neil climbed onto a balcony during their set, reports the Daily Record.

But Simon couldn't get back to the stage so attempted to go through a locked exit, which is when staff stepped in to eject the singer from the venue - thinking he was a dangerous fan.

Thankfully, Biffy Clyro's manager was on hand to stop him bein thrown out: "We had a great show in Birmingham until Simon decided to scale the balcony," he's quoted as saying. "Usually when Simon goes AWOL I'll go after him in case anything goes wrong."

"But unfortunately this time my speed was scuppered by having to run up the stairs on the opposite side of the balcony then around the perimeter. Simon landed on the balcony and realised he was trapped."

"By the time I got to him, he was in the process of being marched outside by the four security 'gentlemen'. They seemed to have no idea who the topless bearded Scottish man shouting at them was."

Biffy Clyro are currently in the studio working on their fifth album, the follow-up to 2007's 'Puzzle'.
