The nominations for this year's MTV Europe Music Awards have been announced, after it was revealed that Beyonce would be performing at the ceremony, which is held at Liverpool's Echo Arena on November 6.

Artists nominated include Britney Spears, Leona Lewis and Coldplay who will all battle it out for the crown of 'Album of the Year'.

Beyonce is up for an award for 'Ultimate Urban' artist, where she faces fierce competition from the likes of Lil Wayne and Kanye West, while newcomers such as the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus are up for best 'New Act'.
