Beastie Boy "Healthy" & "Strong" After Cancer Treatment

Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys has given an update on his recently diagnosed cancer.

The rapper was told he had cancer of in July, and then had surgery to remove a tumor from his left parotid gland in August.

In a statement, Yauch has now told fans he is "feeling healthy, strong and hopeful that I've beaten this thing, but of course time will tell."

"I'm taking Tibetan medicine and at the recommendation of the Tibetan doctors I've been eating a vegan/organic diet, surprisingly enough [it] was harder to do in India than it is now that I'm back home."

Due to his illness, Beastie Boys had to postpone the release of their 'Hot Sauce Committee Part 1' album. Adam also spoke on when fans can expect to hear it.

"We have not set a new release date for the record yet, but i'm hoping it'll be in the first half of next year." He added.
