Ashlee Simpson 'Can't Act' Say Show Insiders

It's been claimed that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz was hired to act on Melrose Place because of her status - and was reportedly fired because "she's the worst actress".
According to a show insider, the singer was only signed up to star in the show because TV bosses believed her name would bring in viewers.
However, when it became clear she wasn't as capable as they'd hoped - poor Ashley was faded out, and eventually dropped from the teen drama's cast.
"They hired her because they needed a good name to help create buzz," the source revealed to Us Weekly. "But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible."
"She's the worst actress, but nobody will tell her."
Last month Ashlee issued a statement after news of her departure from the series came out. She said: "Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill."
"Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance."
"Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity."
