Arctic Monkeys fever continues to grow, with reports that the Sheffield band's debut album is set to become the "fastest selling debut rock album" ever.
The band released Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not yesterday, Monday January 23rd.
According to large music chain HMV, the album sold 60,000 copies on the first day alone, with estimates that the LP is set to reach sales of 200,000 copies by the end of this week.
The previous record for the "fastest selling debut rock album" ever, was held by Oasis when the band released their Definitely Maybe album in 1994.
Before the release of Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, Arctic Monkeys had two top 10 singles, which were I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor and When The Sun Goes Down.
Arctic Monkeys head out on a UK Tour this week as part of the NME Awards Tour 2006, where they join Maximo Park, We Are Scientists and Mystery Jets.
