Annie To Self-Release Don't Stop Album?

Annie has discussed the delay in releasing her second album 'Don't Stop', which will now be released during 2009.

The Norwegian singer should have delivered the record last year and even released the first single I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me. But after the collapse of her worldwide deal with Island Records, the release of the album was put into jeopardy.

In an interview with Billboard, Annie explains her current situation: "I own the masters [to 'Don't Stop'], so I can do whatever I want to do. I might do it myself, on my own label."

"We're talking to people too. There's so much happening in the business right now. In a way, I feel to do things on your own, you're in control. I've always been this sort of artist that people don't know how to categorize me and what to do with me."

The delay could result in extra songs for fans however, as the prolific singer-songwriter and DJ revealed she has completed almost 60 tracks.

"I actually have enough for two albums, so I don't know if I'm going to put out the one as it is, and one right after, or just some songs as ['Don't Stop'] with a couple that no one's heard. But I want to release a lot [this] year."
