Amy Winehouse Drops Appeal For Norway Drug Fine

Amy Winehouse has backed out of her appeal against a drugs fine issued in Norway.

The 'Back To Black' singer and husband Blake Fielder-Civil were arrested outside a hotel in Bergen in October 2007 for possessing seven grams of marijuana. Amy was issued a fine of 500 Euros at the time and held overnight.

But Winehouse later rejected the fine, suggesting the police had made a mistake in arresting her. Norwegian law accepts the payment as a guilty plea, which would affect the singer's work visa abroad - meaning she could be prevented from performing in some countries.

Amy has now dropped her appeal, as attorney Ole Kvelstad tells the Associated Press: "After a careful review of the whole matter, they decided to drop the appeal." The fine must now be paid.
