Amazon Launch Amazon MP3 Digital Store

Amazon have launched their own digital music store, although the iTunes rival is still in its early days.

The store is catchily titled Amazon MP3 and tracks sold will be without copyright protection, meaning they can be played on any MP3 players.

Only American users can download songs from Amazon MP3, with 2 million songs currently available - half a million of which are retailing at 89 cents and the remainder selling for 99 cents.

Amazon hope their digital store will compete with Apple's iTunes, which currently dominates 70% of online download sales.
