Alexandra Burke Rules Out Dating Men For Ten Years

Alexandra Burke is so determined to make her career a success, that she has ruled-out dating any men for the next decade.

The singer has already revealed that mentor Cheryl Cole has advised her to put off dating until she launches her singing career, but now the X Factor winner tells the Mirror that men are out of the picture for ten years.

"They're a waste of time, a waste of space." Burke tells the paper. "They're only going to be good for me when I'm about 30 and thinking about kids. Music is my husband until then."

Alexandra also hit back at claims she was told to slim down and lose weight by the X Factor judges. "I am very happy with my weight now," the singer said. "I'm hoping to stay this size. Eight to 10. I feel better in myself."

Burke's debut single - a cover version of Hallelujah - shot straight to number one last week, making it the number 1 Christmas single.

The X Factor star also recently stated that she doesn't want to sing cover versions and hopes her debut album will be full of original songs.
