Adele will perform a dream show - she is to co-headline a one-off concert with her idol, soul legend Etta James.

News of the gig, which takes place at the Hollywood Bowl this Summer, first surfaced last week. But now the Grammy-winning London songstress has confirmed the show is going ahead, by blogging on her MySpace page.

Clearly excited by the prospect of sharing the stage with her hero, Adele posted a message under the title of 'BEST THING EVER!!!!'.

"I don't actually know if I'm allowed to tell you yet but I just read it somewhere else so..." Explains Adele. "I've been booked to play the Hollywood Bowl in June for a while now. But ETTA JAMES just got confirmed to co-headline it with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Etta james is my favourite singer ever!" she continued. "This is the most amazing thing ever for me!"

The 'Chasing Rainbows' singer has mapped-out a US tour for March, her full forthcoming Stateside schedule is as follows:
