50 Cent Hopes To Release Before I Self Destruct Album This Year

50 Cent has spoken about his 'Before I Self Destruct' album, saying he hopes to reinvent the wheel when it comes to hip-hop.
"[Others] can take what I've done for the last five years and do their version of it and be successful with momentum. Meanwhile, I have to reinvent the wheel." Fiddy tells Rolling Stone.
Speaking about the influences on the record, which should be released by the end of 2008, 50 Cent added: "I'm not really listening to anyone else's record. Now I'm in another space where I gotta make what I'm excited about."
'Before I Self Destruct' should have been released in 2007, but the rapper chose to release 'Curtis' instead. In recent interviews he's described the LP as more "darker" than previous work and also says fans should not expect lots of guest appearances like on 'Curtis'.
