Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody Denies Drink Problem

Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody has denied he has a drink problem.

Reports that the frontman was battling with alcohol addiction started after an interview with the band, where he revealed he used to have a problem five years ago.

Now Lightbody has put the record straight, telling the BBC: "That interview was about a time in my life when I was 26, 27, and out of control. The journalist then used that interview to imply that this was an ongoing problem."

"I'm sober as a judge, fit, healthy, in good voice, in good spirits, in good mind." Lightbody added. "I enjoy a drink as much as anybody but I'm not an alcoholic."

Snow Patrol will soon be releasing their fifth album 'A Hundred Million Suns' at the end of this month.
