Elbow Win The 2008 Mercury Music Prize

Elbow are the winners of the 2008 Nationwide Mercury Music Prize.
The band picked-up the award at the ceremony tonight (September 9), for their album 'The Seldom Seen Kid'. Besides being awarded the title, the group were also given a prize of £20,000.
Frontman Guy Harvey could be heard saying that the award was "quite literally the best thing that's every happened to us."
Elbow held off competition from the likes of Burial, Radiohead and Estelle. The full list of nominations can be viewed here.
