Bloc Party Intimacy Download Album A Success

Bloc Party released their new album 'Intimacy' as a download yesterday (August 21), and according to frontman Kele Okereke, the spontaneous method of last-minute release is proving to be a success.
"It's going really well. It's definitely working." Okereke says of the band's decision to make the album available, with just three days notice and with no prior promotion.
The singer also revealed that Radiohead were the inspiration behind the radical release method, as he tells Billboard: "We finished it a few months ago and we thought, 'Why do we need to sit on it for six months after it's done?' "
"It seems that post-In Rainbows there are no rules about this sort of thing anymore."
Bloc Party have not released any sales figures so far.
