Mark Ronson has signed The Rumble Strips to his own record label and will be producing their next album.
The band have inked a deal with Allido Records - a label Mark runs with Rich Kleiman, under a new partnership with Universal Records worldwide.
The Rumble Strips will begin recording their second album in September with Ronson behind the studio desk, and the finished product is expected for release in Spring 2009.
The producer explains how the partnership came about: "I came across The Rumble Strips through their cover of 'Back to Black', and Amy and I agreed it was kind of better than our own. I picked up their album and fell in love with it."
"Then I decided I wanted to sign them to my label and work on their next album. It was really as straight forward as that. We're all very excited about this."
So far, the band have released just one album, last year's Girls And Weather, which has just been released in the US this month. In October, The Rumble Strips will be touring the States in support of the record.
