Lil Wayne is being sued by The Rolling Stones say reports, after the rapper allegedly sampled one of the band's songs without obtaining permission.
A lawsuit was filed yesterday (July 24th) in Manhattan, after publishers Abkco Music Inc accused the rapper, collaborators and record label of copyright infringement. The suit alleges that the track 'Playing With Fire' - as taken from his latest album 'Tha Carter III - samples a song of the song name, originally by the Stones.
It's also claimed that Lil Wayne has damaged the reputation of the veteran rockers, due to the use of "explicit, sexist and offensive language" which could lead to fans believing the band gave their approval over the use of the sample.
'Tha Carter III' is one of the most successful albums in recent times - selling more than 1 million copies in its first week alone. It currently sits at number 2 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
