The Verve Axe Festival Show Due To Illness

The Verve have pulled a festival appearance tonight (July 16th), as singer Richard Ashcroft has been diagnosed with severe pharyngitis and a chest infection.
The reformed band should have been performing at the Italia Wave Festival in Livorno, but according to a post made on The Verve website, the frontman must rest after being prescribed antibiotics.
"The Verve wish to apologise to any fans who have bought tickets and hope to be playing again soon," a statement reads.
Ashcroft and band are readying the release of their comeback album 'Forth' - now due on August 25th / 26th (UK / US release dates).
