Portishead Planning Fourth Album

Portishead have revealed that they are already planning new material and work on their fourth album had already begun - just months after the acclaimed 'Third' was released.

"We are thinking a new album, that's partly why we're not touring enormously," guitarist Adrian Utley tells BBC 6Music.

Utley also explained the pressures of touring, which has been dropped to concentrate on new studio time:

"In 1998 [after the release of 1997's 'Portishead'] we toured for a year and a bit and it just crashed us. None of us wanted to see each other for a while after that."
