Notorious B.I.G. Documentary Makers Sued For $5 Million

An ex-rapper from the 80's and 90's is suing the producers of the documentary, Notorious B.I.G.: Bigger Than Life, for $5 million.

William Troy McCune claims that video footage of him battling with hip hop legend Biggie was used without permission in the documentary about the late rapper.

The complaint says, "This segment of the Plaintiff and Christopher Wallace is shown throughout the video and is a dominant feature in the extras portion."

It continues, "The use of the photograph, image, and likeness of the Plaintiff, in the video by the Defendants, jointly and severally, and acting in active concert was unauthorized."

The documentary was released in August last year and featured interviews with Method Man, E-40, and Easy Mo Bee. It became well known because it was the first film to cover the confrontation between Biggie and E-40 over a misunderstanding about a quote.
