Pigeon Detectives Singer Slams Madonna

Matt Bowman, frontman with popular Leeds indie band The Pigeon Detectives has launched an attack on pop superstar Madonna, suggesting she is now past it.

Bowman's band shared the same bill as the singer at the Radio 1 Big Weekend earlier this month in Kent, although the two names never met:

"She played on a different day but no-one could get near her anyway." Bowman told the Metro. "She had a police escort and was helicoptered out."

Also in the paper, Matt suggests now is the time for Madonna to call it a day: "She had some tunes in her early days but now she just looks like an old woman grasping on to any bit of relevance she can get with all these quirky collaborations."

"She should have let it go ten years ago. She'd have had more kudos than she does now. She doesn't need the money and she's got three or four kids she could be spending time with."

This week The Pigeon Detectives released their second album Emergency.
