Nas To Release The Nigger Mixtape

Despite changing the title of his controversial 'Nigger' album recently, it has now emerged that Nas plans to release 'The Nigger Mixtape'.

The news comes courtesy of DJ Green Lantern, who says he will collaborate with the rapper on the project.

"We only really kicked it a couple times over the two-way [pager] and email like, 'Let's do the mixtape'," Lantern told Rhapsody.com. "He's a real cool dude. He'll hit you out of the blue..."

The pair have also worked together on a new song called 'Black President', which Green hoped would appear on his Barack Obama mixtape - however, Nas has chosen to keep the track for his own next album. But Lantern hopes to use it on 'The Nigger Mixtape'.

The tape will feature producer Salaam Remi, David Banner and other mixes - approx ten songs in length and released on CD. No release date is known yet.

When quizzed about Nas changing the 'Nigger' title, the DJ added: "I guess it shows you the power of Wal-Mart and Target. If that was the case, it's definitely scary because it kind of f**ks with your artistic vision."
