Smashing Pumpkins 20th Anniversary Tour & DVD Planned

The Smashing Pumpkins will celebrate 20 years together by playing new live dates and releasing a new DVD.

According to the group's website, Billy Corgan and band mates will play "cities in August and September of 2008. No dates or cities have been announced but expect the band to revisit a few specific places that were missed during the last U.S. tour..."

Elsewhere in an interview with Artisan News, Corgan also revealed that a DVD of their 2007 residency at the Fillmore in San Francisco is also being planned.

And if that wasn't enough, fans will be pleased to learn that unreleased demos and a new single are also in the works. Corgan tells Billboard, "We're hoping to put out some early demos at the end of this year to start a rolling boxed set."

"There's an audience out there that wants to hear the fourth show we ever did with the song we only did that one time." The front man added, "Maybe it's only 500 people, but maybe you find a way."
