Mos Def & Rihanna To Star In Mama Black Widow Movie

Mos Def is to star in his next movie, named Mama Black Widow and the film will be based on a 1969 novel of the same title, written by Iceberg Slim (Robert Beck).

Also joining the rapper/actor will be r&b singer Rihanna, with the film being her debut into the world of acting. Other names due to feature are Macy Gray, Brian J. White, Anthony Anderson and Kerry Washington.

Full details of Mama Black Widow are not fully available just yet, but the movie apparently tells the story of a black family who migrate from the Southern Mississippi field to Chicago, during the 1930's.

Mama Black Widow is currently in pre-production with hopes of a 2009 release. Darren Grant is directing.
