The Pigeon Detectives have been forced to pull two of their live dates this week, after singer Matt Bowman injured himself on stage yesterday (Sunday 11th May).
The band were performing at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Maidstone, when just four songs into their set, Bowman badly injured his leg but continued to leap off the stage & scissor kick into the air off the drum kit until he collapsed.
He managed to finish the set before being taken to hospital where they initially wanted to operate immediately, however after further advice he was transferred to Leeds where he is currently being treated.
Ironically, Bowman hurt himself during a performance of new single 'This Is An Emergency' - as released today (May 12th.
Two Ireland dates - Dublin, 13th May and Belfast 14th May - have now been cancelled and The Pigeon Detectives are waiting to hear whether more shows are to be postponed.
If the jaunt continues, the band will resume their schedule in Glasgow on Friday (May 16th).
