Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez Signs With Carpark Records

Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez has joined the ranks of Carpark Records and his debut album 'Why Is Bear Billowing', is released in mid-August.

The eleven-tracker is, according to the press blurb, "just Lesser and his acoustic guitar crafting some of the prettiest folk tunes you'll hear this year or any."

"A testament to the beauty of simplifying your life," it continues, "Lesser delivers his songs with a sense of whimsical earnestness, and has garnered comparisons to Nick Drake, John Fahey, and Donovan."

August 19th (US - no word on a UK date) is the release for the long-player, around the same time Lesser will be touring North America alongside Jana Hunter.

Elsewhere, Alvarez is a member of the drone-tinged country-folk group The Tall Grass, in an electronic side project called The Ruby Stallion Ensemble and is a member of the Wham City collective in Baltimore with Dan Deacon and others.
