Coldplay's free new single has proved popular with fans, after it has emerged that a whopping six hundred thousand people have downloaded 'Violet Hill' within just 24 hours.
The single is currently available via the band's official website as a taster for forthcoming new album 'Viva La Vida' and will only be given away until May 6th, when it will then be replaced with a paid for download release.
Keeping on a free theme, Coldplay are to play three live free shows in major cities this Summer, with dates planned in London, New York and Barcelona.
