Dre (one half of production duo Cool & Dre) has spoken fondly of gangsta rapper The Game, even comparing him to the late Tupac Shakur.
The producer worked on a track for The Game's upcoming L.A.X. (Los Angeles Times) record and speaking of the experience, Dre says that he believes the Compton hip-hop star is as talented as 2Pac and that his recent jail spell may benefit his career.
In an interview with MTV.com, Dre says: "Right now, he's like 'Pac. It's like when 'Pac came outta prison and did California Love that same night."
"Lyrically, he's somewhere else right now. When he was going to jail...he said he didn't know how long he's gonna be going in for. But he was like, 'When I come out, I'm ready to go.' So the day he got out, we got the phone call, like, 'Yo, come to L.A. right now.' So me and Cool jumped on the plane."
Earlier today, The Game named a definite release date for L.A.X. (Los Angeles Times).
