Ice Cube To Star & Produce New Comedy Film Janky Promoters

Ice Cube is no stranger to the big screen, afterall the rapper can be seen showing off his acting skills in flicks like Boyz N The Hood and Friday, plus who could ever forget his role in... Anaconda.

It's now been revealed that the former N.W.A member is sto star and produce an upcoming comedy, Janky Promoters, based upon the story of two inexperienced concert promoters.

Ice Cube, real name O'Shea Jackson, will play one of the duo who proceed to book a "well-kown rapper" for a medium-sized venue, but things don't quite go to plan. Sounds hilarious so far.

Production is yet to start on Janky Promoters - a Summer date is likely and the series will be released via Dimension Films. There is no news on who the "well-known rapper" is just yet,

Dimension Films boss Bob Weinstein says: "This feels a lot like Uptown Saturday Night to me, a caper film where you have these music promoters who are slightly shady but are good enough guys that you root for them. This is going to be R-rated, and it appeals right to the core of Cube's audience."
