The Dandy Warhols Form Their Own Record Label

The Dandy Warhols are going to launch their own record label this year and they will also be self-releasing their next studio album later on in the year.

The band separated from their previous label Capitol after poor sales of their 2005 album Odditorium Or The Warlords Of Mars (it sold just 38,000 copies).

Talking to Billboard, guitarist Peter Holstrom said, "We were upset for about a week, and then we were overjoyed."

Holstrom added, "We started to get really frustrated with Capitol. Our records were recouping and making money for."

Although The Dandy Warhols were offered interest from other major labels, the band apparently turned them away because they were tired of dealing with "major-label incompetence", says manager Lee Cohen.

The new label will be named Beat The World and will an imprint through the World's Fair Group.
