Timbaland To Release Mobile Phone Only Album

Rapper and producer Timbaland is to make musical history thanks to a new deal, which will see the hip hop superstar being the first artist ever to release a "mobile phone-only" album.

The deal, which sees Timba partnering with US phone network Verizon Wireless, will see a brand new song released every single month to subscribers of Verizon's V Cast service, just days after it has been produced. The songs will then be released as an album at the end of the year.

Although no details have been revealed as to when the new songs from the album will start being available, the producer has promised each track will include a special guest. In recent times he has worked with many top-name singers such as Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and Nicole Scherzinger.

Timbaland says of the new album: "Every place don't get a CD but everybody has a mobile phone. Just producing a mobile album has never been done. I'm the first to ever do it. I'm just going to have fun with it. I'll just do what comes in mind."
