Foxy Brown Appeals For Early Release Due To Medical Problem

With three months left of her prison sentence, Foxy Brown has filed an appeal with the New York State Supreme Court asking to be released early because of an emergency medical condition.

The rapper has apparantly requested that she either be released from Riker's Island or be allowed to serve the rest of her sentence at home so that she can receive adequate treatment.

Foxy lost her hearing in 2005 and had surgery a year later to give her a cochlear implant. She's claiming that the implant was damaged after being attacked by another inmate back in October and that she's been bleeding from her ear ever since.

The appeal states that: "If her hearing is damaged any further, it will affect the way she hears and will affect the way she sings. It will have dire consequences on her ability to maintain her profession and livelihood."

Brown also wrote a personal, four-page letter to the judge, explaining why he should release her.

She wrote: "Yes, I've made bad choices and stupid mistakes but please understand that sitting in prison with murderers and criminals is not rehabilitating or what I need to deal with my inner issues."

"Up until now, you've only heard about Foxy Brown the artist. I'd like to show you Inga Marchand, the beautiful person that my mom raised me to be. Jail has shaken me to my core, and my time away has impacted me greatly."

If the appeal fails then Foxy isn't likely to be released until 20th April.
