Beanie Sigel Sentenced For Parole Violation

Roc-A-Fella rapper Beanie Sigel was yesterday sentenced to a day in prison and six months in a halfway house for a second violation of his parole, only weeks before his federal probation was due to end. His existing parole was also extended by 18 months, and he escaped up to 9 months in prison.

The 33-year-old had left his state without permission to visit Atlantic City, New Jersey as well as made contact with a known felon. Although he admits to the unautorised trip, he denies meeting with the felon and says he was at a studio giving interviews, but a probation officer testified that he'd seen the rapper at his mother's home.

Beanie's career will most likely be affected as whilst he's still able to travel within Philadelphia during the day, he isn't allowed to go anywhere else - something likely to cause problems with touring and promotion of his successful 2007 album, The Solution.
